Predators trade Luke Kunin to Sharks
The San Jose Sharks have acquired center Luke Kunin from the Nashville Predators in exchange for forward John Leonard and a 2023 third-round pick, the teams announced Friday.
Kunin, who was drafted No. 15 by Minnesota in 2016, totaled 22 points in 82 games this season. He was set to become a restricted free agent after his two-year, $4.6 million contract expired at the end of the 2021-22 season.
The 24-year-old Wisconsin product was previously dealt to Nashville in October of 2020 in a trade involving Nick Bonino.
San Jose took Swedish center Filip Bystedt with the No. 27 pick of the 2022 NHL Draft on Thursday. For more on the draft, follow The Athletic's live coverage here.
